Shannon Rickett J.D.

Shannon Rickett is a distinguished professional with a strong background in higher education and governmental relations. She holds a Juris Doctorate from Baylor Law School and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Louisville. With a career that includes serving as a congressional staffer to former House Appropriations Committee Chairman Hal Rogers, Rickett has extensive experience in managing legislative and political issues.

In her role at the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS), she serves as a special assistant for institutional planning and strategic alignment within the project management office. Her responsibilities include supporting the strategic and long-range goals of the system and ensuring systemwide alignment of strategic initiatives. This position allows her to collaborate with senior and executive leadership to identify and capitalize on opportunities for growth, efficiency, and innovation.

Rickett’s contributions to the field have been recognized, as she was named one of the 50 ‘notable women in KY politics’ by The Kentucky Gazette in 2019. She is also actively involved in various professional and civic activities, demonstrating her commitment to the community and the state of Kentucky.
