Blair Hess

Blair Hess is a dedicated communications professional with a rich background in agricultural and educational outreach. As the Vice President of Communications and Marketing at the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS), she brings a wealth of experience to her role. Prior to joining KCTCS, Hess served as the Director of Communications, National, for the Council of State Governments since 2019. Her earlier tenure includes a significant position as the Media and Communications Manager for Kentucky State University’s land grant program and college of agriculture.

Hess’s educational journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Communications from the University of Kentucky, followed by advanced coursework towards a Master’s degree in Public Administration at Kentucky State University. Her commitment to her home state of Kentucky is evident in her work, where she aims to promote the commonwealth and its people passionately.

In her current role, which she began on April 1, Hess is responsible for leading KCTCS’s communications and marketing efforts, focusing on core values such as affordability, accessibility, and workforce development. Her goal is to build a brighter economic future for Kentucky by connecting with students, staff, faculty, and communities across the state.

Hess’s dedication to service and her deep roots in Kentucky make her a valuable asset to KCTCS and the broader educational community. Her leadership is expected to contribute significantly to the institution’s mission of improving the lives of Kentuckians through education and training.
