What is KCTCS?

The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) is a statewide network of 16 community college locations throughout Kentucky. The system was established in 1997 by the Kentucky General Assembly to provide affordable and accessible education and training programs for the citizens of Kentucky.

Credential Options

KCTCS offers more than 700 credential options from certificates to associate degrees, in various fields such as health care, information technology, business administration, engineering, education, and more. The community college system is also committed to providing workforce development and training programs in partnership with local businesses and industries to address the state's workforce needs and those looking for a career change.

Accessible Education

KCTCS aims to make education accessible to all Kentuckians by offering flexible scheduling, affordable tuition rates, and transferable credits to four-year universities. Financial Aid Options

KCTCS understands the importance of providing financial aid opportunities to its students. KCTCS actively participates in various federal and state financial aid programs, including grants, scholarships, and loans. Additionally, they offer institutional aid programs to help offset the cost of tuition, fees, and books.

Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship

KCTCS is an authorized provider of the Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship, an initiative to help Kentuckians who have not yet earned an associate degree afford an industry-recognized certificate or diploma. This program is designed to provide financial assistance to those who wish to gain advanced skills and knowledge through various technical programs. 

The WRKS program covers tuition costs, fees, and some associated costs for eligible students. The scholarship is available to individuals who are Kentucky residents, have graduated from high school or earned a GED, and have not yet completed an associate degree. The program offers students a choice of over 350 approved programs at one of Kentucky's community and technical colleges or through one of the University of Kentucky's regional campuses.
