Elections

The KCTCS Board of Regents is the governing board of KCTCS is made up of eight members appointed by the Governor, and six other members:

• 2 members of the teaching faculty
• 2 members of non-teacher personnel (staff)
• 2 members of the student body

The members are respective of the KCTCS community and technical colleges. 

Faculty and staff Regents serve three (3) year terms and until their successors are named. Faculty and staff Regents may be reelected but shall not serve more than two (2) consecutive terms. Elections are system-wide and are conducted in accordance with KCTCS Board of Regents Procedure 1.1-P Procedure for Election of Faculty and Non-Teaching Personnel.

Student Regents are elected annually in August and serve a one (1) year term. Elections are system-wide and are conducted in accordance with KCTCS Board of Regents Procedure 1.2-P Procedure for Election of Student Regents.
