Special Board of Regents Meeting Huron Update

Call to Order
KCTCS Board of Regents Parliamentarian and General Counsel Pam Duncan called the meeting to order at 4:06 p.m. ET via Microsoft TEAMS. The press was notified on September 7, 2023. A quorum was present.
Introductions
General Counsel Duncan introduced the Huron staff, who would be presenting a PowerPoint to the Board.
Huron Progress Report
Ms. Kalkidan Tefera from Huron gave an update covering four key areas: Compensation Workstream Update, Employee Impact Analysis, Human Resource Assessment Findings, and Optimization Workstream Update.
The meeting marked the beginning of the Position Mapping Phase. Regents asked for additional documentation, including mapping results and compensation breakdowns. Huron committed to providing these materials.
It was noted that honest and transparent communication with faculty and staff will be vital. The next update will take place on October 9, 2023, focusing solely on compensation.

Approval of Minutes
Chair Martin asked for corrections to the June 29, 2023, meeting minutes. Hearing none, the minutes were approved by consensus.
Next Meeting
The next meeting is scheduled for October 9, 2023, via Microsoft TEAMS.
Adjournment
Regent Whitten moved to adjourn. Regent Heerdink seconded. The motion carried unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 5:45 p.m. ET.
