    System Policy and Planning Committee Meeting

    Date: August 10, 2022

    Members Present:

    • Mr. James Lee Stevens, Acting Chair
    • Dr. Wendy Fletcher, Secretary
    • Mr. Joseph Heerdink
    • Ms. Patsy Jackson (serving temporarily for Brianna Whitten)

    Call to Order:

    Acting Chair Stevens called the meeting to order at 4:04 p.m. (ET), held virtually via Microsoft TEAMS. Press notification occurred on August 3, 2022. Hon. Pam Duncan served as parliamentarian.

    Approval of Minutes:

    The May 19, 2022, minutes were presented. With no corrections, a motion to approve was made by Regent Heerdink and seconded by Regent Jackson. The motion passed unanimously.

    New Business:

    Review of September 15–16, 2022, Board Agenda and Itinerary

    The committee reviewed draft documents. Regent Fletcher updated on the Resource Optimization Committee and the upcoming RFP meeting on August 17.

    Board Liaison Hannah Rivera noted name updates needed for two agenda items due to new Vice Presidents. The Committee agreed to update:

    • Update: Compensation and Classification
    • Update: Learner Success and Workforce Development Report

    Former Chair Lisa Desmarais will attend the working lunch to be recognized.

    The Naming of the West Kentucky CTC Allied Health Building item will be moved to December due to scheduling conflicts.

    President Evaluation Update

    Ms. Rivera reported coordination with Regent Finan on the survey to be conducted via OnBoard.

    Board Officer Elections Process

    Ms. Duncan explained that a special election must be held to replace Regent Desmarais, who was not reappointed.

    Internal Audit Committee Report:

    Acting Chair Stevens stated the Audit Committee will meet prior to the full Board meeting and will present a report.

    Next Meeting:

    The next System Policy and Planning Committee meeting is scheduled for August 31, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. (ET).

    Adjournment:

    Regent Fletcher moved to adjourn, seconded by Regent Heerdink. The motion passed unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 4:50 p.m. (ET).
