KCTCS Marketing Departments and chief marketing officer win national awards

Versailles, Ky. –Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) Marketing team in Versailles received three national Paragon Awards for outstanding achievement in marketing communications, including the top award in one category. 

West Kentucky Community and Technical College also received a silver Paragon award for its Clemens Fine Art Center's Inside Out logo.

The Versailles team received awards in the following categories: 

  1. Gold – Brochure (2020 advocacy brochure)
  2. Bronze – Radio Ad (Real World)
  3. Bronze – Successful Recruitment or Marketing Program (Real World)

Additionally, KCTCS Chief Marketing Officer Terri Giltner won the national Communicator of the Year Award. During her 16 years at KCTCS, Giltner turned the department into a full-service marketing agency serving the 16 colleges. She established a research-based marketing framework that includes on-going statewide market research and data-driven campaigns. She created marketing policies and procedures for crisis communications, branding, web services, social media and media relations. 

The award is one of the most prestigious presented to an NCMPR member who has demonstrated leadership and ability in college communications. It is awarded annually in each of NCMPR's seven districts, and district recipients automatically qualify to compete for the national award. Giltner won the District 2 award last fall.

The awards are sponsored by the National Conference for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR). Winners were announced at a virtual celebration during the national conference.

Giltner and Associate Marketing Director Brittany Lippert also were presenters at the conference.
