Dr. Scott Williams was born and raised in Lakeland, Florida. He is a graduate of the University of Florida with Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in animal science.
He graduated from Colorado State University with a Ph.D. in animal science majoring in meat science and muscle biology. Dr. Williams was a tenured associate professor in animal science at the University of Georgia conducting research and teaching in the area of animal growth and development.
He moved to Kentucky in 1999 to assist his family in an agriculture enterprise and began teaching Agriculture Technology and related sciences at Owensboro Community and Technical College (OCTC). In addition, he started the biotechnology program at OCTC and taught anatomy and physiology courses. He moved to administration in 2008 where he served as the chief academic officer and was appointed president of OCTC in June of 2015.
