Dr. Cynthia KelleyVersailles, Ky. Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) President Jay K. Box announced today the appointment of Dr. Cynthia Kelley as president of Madisonville Community College (MCC).

Kelley is an experienced leader who currently serves as vice president, Academic Affairs at Motlow State Community College in Lynchburg, Tennessee. She also served in a variety of leadership positions at West Virginia University at Parkersburg and taught special education in public schools.

"Dr. Kelley brings a broad range of experience to MCC," Box said. "She's a proven leader that will be a good fit for the college and the community."

Kelley earned a doctorate in curriculum and instruction from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. She earned a master's degree in education of gifted and talented students from West Virginia University and a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Glenville State College in Glenville, West Virginia.

"I am honored to serve as president of Madisonville Community College," Kelley said. "I'm so impressed with everything I've seen and heard about the college, and I look forward to getting to know the students, faculty, staff and the community."

Kelley begins her duties as MCC president on July 1.
