Versailles, Ky. Eight colleges of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) received Kentucky Coal County College Completion Student Services Grants from the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA).

These grants, which total $366 857, will be used primarily to help expand outreach to high school students and assist with retention, completion and transfer initiatives.Here is a breakdown of what each college received.

The Kentucky Coal County College Completion Program was enacted during the 2014 regular session of the Kentucky General Assembly. The program was established to assist residents of Kentuckys coal-producing counties attending postsecondary education institutions located in coal-producing counties by providing scholarships to decrease financial barriers to bachelors degree completion; and grants to community colleges located in the area to enhance the extent and quality of student support services and program offerings necessary to increase student success and degree production.
