Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) President Jay Box announced today that Wendell Followell has been named vice president. He will oversee the systems finance, human resources and facilities departments as well as the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services. He replaces Ken Walker, who is retiring January 30.

Followell has dedicated his 30-year professional career to making KCTCS one of the very best community college systems in the nation. Prior to being named vice president, he served as system director of Business Services. He was responsible for the systems operations of payroll, accounting, purchasing, accounts payable, managed print services and bookstore operations.
Wendells experience and breadth of knowledge position him perfectly to step into this position, Box said. He has significant cross-functional leadership experience in multiple areas and will continue the fiscally responsible policies that have served KCTCS so well.

Followell earned a masters degree in public administration from the University of Kentucky with a concentration in financial management. He currently is enrolled in the University of Kentucky/University of Louisville Executive MBA program designed for experienced executives from for-profit, non-profit, and government organizations.

Followell is extremely active in his community, donating his expertise to everything from neighborhood associations to community theatre.
