Payne-Kinney BOR ElectionsKentucky Community and Technical College (KCTCS) employees have elected two new faculty and staff representatives to the KCTCS Board of Regents.

Shawn S. Payne of Owensboro Community and Technical College (OCTC) was elected to serve as the occupational/technical college faculty regent. Mary B. Kinney, also of OCTC, was elected to serve as the non-teaching personnel/staff regent.

Payne is an associate professor and program coordinator for mechatronics at OCTC who joined the KCTCS faculty in 2007. He received numerous certificates in electrical technology and industrial maintenance and earned two associate in applied science degrees from OCTC. Kinney is the coordinator of academic affairs and retention at OCTC, a position she has held since 2011. She has been employed with KCTCS since 2001 and previously worked as the coordinator of academic affairs and director of operations for OCTCs Discover College. Kinney received an associate in applied science degree in human services from Henderson Community College. She earned a bachelor of arts in psychology and a master of arts in education from Western Kentucky University.Kinney Candidacy Packet (PDF)

Payne and Kinney were elected by electronic voting in a special election Tuesday, February 24 that was open to all eligible KCTCS faculty and staff. The faculty and staff regents-elect will fill the remainder of established terms which began October 12, 2012, and continue through October 11, 2015.
