Beyond the classroom, KCTCS plays a vital role in the economic development of Kentucky. In addition to traditional degrees, certificates and diplomas, we run statewide initiatives designed to develop high-skilled workers to support our state’s businesses and industries.


The Automotive Manufacturing Technical Education Collaborative (AMTEC) prepares highly skilled mechatronics technicians for the automobile manufacturing industry.




     The Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services (KBEMS) provides certification to Kentucky’s EMTs and        other first responders.


KY Coal Academy

 The Kentucky Coal Academy (KCA) provides state-of-the-art training for workers in the coal industry.


KY Fire Commission

 The Kentucky Fire Commission trains volunteer and career firefighters across the state.



 The North American Racing Academy (NARA) offers the nation’s only fully accredited training program for jockeys and horsemen.
